Amy & Faulkner {Nashville Pet Photographer}

On the blog this week is a fun pet portrait session with a couple familiar faces: Amy and Faulkner! I've worked with them several times before -- you can even check out their fall mini session from a couple of years ago here

Faulkner got his name from Amy's favorite author: William Faulkner.  He loves tennis balls more than anything, playing with them all over the house, in the yard, and will even sleep with them nearby.

Faulkner is a rescue from Southeast German Shorthair Pointer (SEGSP) Rescue. Amy met his foster parents in Montgomery in April of 2012 to pick him up, and although they live in Mobile, they've kept in touch ever since.

Amy says her favorite thing about him is his zest for life: "It's infectious! The way his face lights up when he sees a ball would make anyone smile." She loves how sweet, yet regal he can be -- when he lies in her lap she just melts! Although the breed has a lot of energy, Amy's totally okay with that because so does she! :)

Here are a few of my favorites!

Riley, Lara & George {Nashville Dog Photographer}

On the blog this week is another family and pet photography session at the Ellington Agricultural Center, this time with Lara, George and their super sweet pup Riley!

Riley is a German Shorthaired Pointer, and almost ten years old! He's still got a ton of energy, and loves outdoor adventures both big and small: parks, the woods, a walk around the neighborhood. George and Riley even get up almost every morning for the last 8.5 years to go for a run, and they both love the time they spend together before the sun comes up.

And apparently Riley really hates any beeping sounds! They had to turn the beep function off of many home appliances so that he wouldn't run outside!

Lara and George adopted him from a family living outside of Memphis. The family and their neighbors each had a German Shorthaired Pointer, and they created a litter of pups! Lara and George were on their way back home to Nashville from a family visit in Texas when they picked him up.

When I asked what they love most about him, Lara said, "Riley is such a content and silly dog, and up for any type of activity or cuddling session. We've come to find out that these qualities are typical of the breed. One of the unique things is that we get stopped constantly on the street by people who want to compliment him, ask about the breed or tell us a story about a GSP that they have owned/own."

I hope you enjoy some of my favorite photographs from this session!

Mia & Nolan {Southeast Missouri Portrait Photographer}

Sometimes I really can't believe how fast time flies by! I recently had the opportunity to take portraits for Mia and Nolan on my family's farm in Missouri. Her mom and I went through school together and were roommates in college, and now Mia is officially a teenager!

I've photographed her for forever, and it's so hard to believe how grown up she is now. She even brought her dog Nolan along for a few adorable photos with him!

Nolan is 17 years old and is a toy poodle. His favorite thing to do these days is napping with his humans. I  had so much fun capturing the two of them together.  Mia even toughed it out by dipping her feet in the freezing creek water!

Enjoy some of my favorites from their photo session!
