The Hartmann Family {Nashville Dog Photography}

I’m so happy to share, for the second time, the Hartmann family! They have been on the blog before, about three years ago. Sadly, the sweet corgis they had at that time have passed on, and they have now added two sweet new pups to their pack. You can take a look at that session here: The Hartmann Family

We took these photos at Shelby and Thomas’ beautiful home in Franklin. Introducing a one-and-a-half-year-old Welsh corgi named Eddy Merckx, and a five-year-old dachshund named Asher.

When I asked the couple about their dogs’ names, they told me Asher already had his name, but they loved it! Eddy Merckx is named after cyclist, a world champion one, at that!
Asher loves his treats and really all food but dislikes having squirrels in his yard. Eddy Merckx loves his (and Asher’s!) toys, but he hates baths.

Shelby and Thomas love that both Asher and Eddy are so loyal to them AND to each other. “It is the sweetest.”

While Eddy M is not a rescue dog, Asher is. He came from TN Dachshund Rescue (TDR). Which the Hartmann’s “HIGHLY RECOMMEND” with a “shout out to Sheraine and Jamie!”

I also wanted to know what it was about these dog breeds this couple loved. They said:

“Asher is our first doxie, and we will definitely go back to TDR.  They did a great job of pairing us with a dog that fit our needs after our sweet Norman passed away.  Doxies are fierce little hunters but very loyal and kind.  We are smitten! Eddy Merckx is our 3rd corgi - we love their herding nature and how they like to ‘keep all of us together’.”

I hope you enjoy these great photos of this couple and their cute dogs!

Melissa, Mike and Miles {Nashville Dog Photography}

Whew…it has been a little while since I’ve shared a new blog, and I have missed sharing photos with you all! Unfortunately my facebook account was hacked and I couldn’t access my business page there, which I normally post all my blogs to. But, I am back (after starting a brand new business page) and ready to show you these very special photos of Melissa, Mike and Miles.

This is a celebration of the life of sweet Miles, who crossed the rainbow bridge last week. Miles is a Lab mix and was 12.5 years old in these photos. On his very first drive home with Melissa he got car sick and Melissa said, “Wow! He has been sick three times in five miles…MILES! That’s his name!” And so it was.

Miles loved cheese, belly rubs and always loved finding a dirty tennis ball. Melissa and Mike loved his kind eyes and sweet soul. Melissa adopted him from a friend who had an unplanned litter on her hands and she couldn’t be happier that she did!

“He’s a gentle giant. I love him so much.”

The Harris Family (Part 2) {Kentucky Pet Photographer}

Here is the second half of the Harris family blog!  If you didn’t see part one, please click here: The Harris Family Part One

I am thrilled for part two, because it includes all the horses.  I grew up with horses, so taking these photos was nostalgic for me.  I felt right at home!

Sherri and Jeff Harris live on a 40-acre farm.  They are at capacity for animals with five horses, four dogs, a fish and two feral cats. Though at capacity, they still foster occasionally.  They rescue whenever they can and are bona fide animal lovers. They even feed the neighbor's cat as if he is was theirs because he enjoys their barn so much.

I just want to say, thank you Sherri and Jeff for all that you do for these animals!

Now, on to these beautiful horses…

Blackjack is a stunning Walking Horse that has trust issues based on the assumption of a less than perfect background. He came from a kill auction and has taken a very long time to him to trust again. He is regal under saddle but can be a bit unpredictable when riding.

Tonto is also a Walking Horse that came from a friend who was thinning out her herd. Tonto is beautiful, reliable and sensitive. Sherri and Jeff say they are so lucky to have him.

Roscoe is their pony who came with Tonto because they loved each other so much Sherri didn’t have the heart to separate them.  Roscoe is a comedian, athletic and has been ridden in competitions in the past.  To the Harris’ he is much more like a big, hilarious dog.

Lovie was another rescue from a kill pen. She is a beautiful, incredibly sweet and spunky spotted mare AND the only female horse. She is stunning with the one haunting blue eye and the other brown eye.  Lovie requires special attention in feed and hoof care because she has a metabolism issue most likely due to being left in a field with little care before she was rescued.

Kid One Sock is the Harris’ only Quarter horse and the only one that has papers.  Sherri was looking for a horse like him to rescue but none seemed to fit, so when he came along it was meant to be.  He had spent most of his time alone in a field without friends, so it took him a little while to adjust to the Harris herd.  He came with a severely split hoof that took almost five years of special hoof care to get back in shape.

Sherri finds it amazing and soothing just to watch them enjoy life.

I hope you enjoy their photos below as much as I did taking them!
