Sevda and Atlas {Nashville Dog Photography}

On the blog this week are Sevda and Atlas, from our session this spring at Ellington Agriculture Center -one of my all time favorite locations!

Atlas is a two year old mix of German shepherd, Labrador, and great Pyrenees. Though he may look like a German shepherd at first glance, his personality is more like a Lab. He is a love bug and a social butterfly.

Before his adoption Sevda was told that this dog would be a large breed. Because of this she chose the name Atlas, as this was the name of a famous titan in Greek mythology known to be enormous.

Atlas loves to ride in the front seat of the car (he even has a dog safety belt to sit up there!). When he was little, he would always find a way to sneak up to the front seat. He does not like to be left home alone. He will wait for Sevda by the garage door until she comes back, giving her a sad face because she was gone.

Sevda rescued/adopted Atlas on August 1st of 2020 from Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue

Enjoy some of my favorites of these cute dog photos.

The Datzman Family {Nashville Family Photographer}

Meet the Datzman family: Alex, Alicia and their daughter Grace (six at the time of this session). They brought with them Bonnie, a nine year-old rescue, and Ada, a one year-old Weimaraner. I’m excited to share last fall’s family mini at Marcella Vivrette Smith Park and looking forward to their next session in November that will include their kitties!

Bonnie is short for “Bonita” because she was such a beautiful little puppy. Alex and Alicia love that Bonnie has been the most faithful of friends for almost nine years now and say she is incredibly patient, as she puts up with antics from Grace!

Ada is named for Ada Lovelace - a famous problem solver (known to be the world’s first computer programmer). She is the Datzman family’s second Weimaraner, and they enjoy that the breed is incredibly intense at everything in life, including loving their people. They have named her a “world class snuggler.”

Both dogs have really soulful eyes that you can see in some of the images I posted below! The Datzman’s just know they are trying their best to understand what you’re saying to them.

Enjoy some of my faves!

Amy and Faulkner {Nashville Pet Photography}

This week on the blog are Amy and Faulkner. They might look familiar, as this is my sixth photo shoot with them, this time at Marcella Vivrette Smith Park. I am super excited because next week I will be photographing their seventh session during my Christmas tree farm minis! Amy - thank you for continuing to bring your sweet pup to me to photograph. I always look forward to our photo sessions! Please check out Amy and Faulkner’s very first photo session with me in 2014!

 Faulkner is a German shorthaired pointer and he’s 10 to 11 years old now. It’s basically unknown, but he has lovingly been with Amy for 8 plus years now. Faulkner was named after William Faulkner.

Here is what Amy had to say about Faulkner: He LOVES tennis balls. Any ball really, but a tennis ball that bounces or squeaks, and he is smitten. He has one in reach at all times of the day and night. Rain and storms are his least favorite thing…it turns him into a bit of a Nervous Nelly. But outside of that, Faulkner’s zest for life the moment he sees a tennis ball, the way he looks at it…you just can’t help but smile along with him!

Faulkner is a rescue, from a breed-specific rescue, Southeast German Shorthair Pointer Rescue.
Amy calls the breed “velcro dogs”, and have what she calls an on/off switch. They go at full speed until they just fall down and nap, which is how she describes how she lives her own life. Sounds like a perfect match to me!

Another cool thing about this breed is their natural instincts as a bird dog. “When he was younger he would flush and point, and it was so cool to see those instincts take shape! He is my first bird dog but will not be my last for sure!”

There is still one mini spot open at Smith Park on 10.10.21 and one on 11.6.21. Click here to book: https://book.usesession.com/i/-nPwGR6wF
