Courtney with Macy & Bella {Nashville Dog Photography}

This week on the blog, I am honoring two sweet pups in a celebration of life, sadly they both passed away last year. I share with you some of my favorite pics of a fall mini session I did with Courtney and her two dogs at Marcella Vivrette Smith Park .

Macy, aka Mace Dawg, was a 14 year old Yorkie at the time of the session. She got the name when Courtney was in college. Courtney loves that Macy had such a big personality and that she never left her side.

Bella was an 11 year old Collie/Spaniel/Setter mix that was abandoned close to Courtney’s parents' home in Alabama. She brought this cute dog back to Nashville with her. She was extremely well behaved and calm. Courtney could just tell that Bella was so grateful to be a part of the family! “Rescues make the best pets!”

As you enjoy the photos below, keep in mind that fall is right around the corner! I am working on my fall mini sessions schedule and Marcella Vivrette Smith Park will definitely be a location option again.

Sevda and Atlas {Nashville Dog Photography}

On the blog this week are Sevda and Atlas, from our session this spring at Ellington Agriculture Center -one of my all time favorite locations!

Atlas is a two year old mix of German shepherd, Labrador, and great Pyrenees. Though he may look like a German shepherd at first glance, his personality is more like a Lab. He is a love bug and a social butterfly.

Before his adoption Sevda was told that this dog would be a large breed. Because of this she chose the name Atlas, as this was the name of a famous titan in Greek mythology known to be enormous.

Atlas loves to ride in the front seat of the car (he even has a dog safety belt to sit up there!). When he was little, he would always find a way to sneak up to the front seat. He does not like to be left home alone. He will wait for Sevda by the garage door until she comes back, giving her a sad face because she was gone.

Sevda rescued/adopted Atlas on August 1st of 2020 from Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue

Enjoy some of my favorites of these cute dog photos.

Maranda and Reba {Nashville Dog Photographer}

It is truly something great when I get to continue photographing the same faces over the years. This familiar pet and her person, Maranda and Reba, have been on my blog since 2015. Though I have quite a few blog entries of this duo, check out their most recent one here. You might remember Reba because she is named after the country singing legend Reba McEntire, and because she is part dog and part kangaroo.

Maranda and her sweet pup met me at Marcella Vivrette Smith Park in November last year. They match with the scenery around them so well! Also, I love how Maranda always has Reba adorned with a pretty flower ready for her pictures. Reba is about 12 years old now and was rescued from a no-kill shelter in Western TN, through a Petsmart adoption day in Nashville. Though it is fun to call her part kangaroo, she is really a pit and dachshund mix. (It’s just that this dog could jump so high…you have to wonder).

Maranda feels like a truly lucky dog mom, as Reba is easygoing, gets along with others (humans and dogs alike), and is ready to snuggle and sleep in anytime.

I hope you enjoy some of my faves from this session.
