RARE Adoptables {Nashville Pet Photographer}

As you may have seen before, I often work with local animal organizations to help promote their adoption and foster programs. I recently captured some photos for RARE, also known as Rural Animal Rescue Effort, based out of Middle Tennessee.

RARE is a non-profit whose mission is to "rescue neglected and abandoned animals in the most rural areas of Tennessee" and aims to find forever homes for them in more populated areas of the state!

Below you'll get a chance to see two of their adoptable pets, one cat and one dog. Axel is a sweet Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler mix and is house trained and ready to find his new family! He's also pretty energetic and would be the perfect fit for someone who is active.

Dinah is a beautiful tortoiseshell mix, with brown and black colors on her coat. She's onlyone and a half years old, and loves to curl up and purr softly in your lap.

If you are interested in adopting either of these animals, head on over to RARE's adoption application online to get started!

And if you can't adopt please share so we can find these two their furever homes.

Tail of 20 Cities: Mandy Whitley Photography in Franklin, TN {Nashville Dog Photographer}

I’m so excited to be participating in Rover.com’s Tail of 20 Cities, celebrating my amazing clients and unique city along with 19 other photographers from around the world. Take a look at the other photographers participating in the Tail of 20 Cities Photo Journey here,  and feel free to join in on the fun by posting a photo of your pooch repping your city with hashtag #RoverCities on social media.

My family LOVES Franklin, Tennessee. It has the best main street — complete with restaurants, shops and a refurbished old theater. Many of the shops and restaurants have dog bowls out all the time and most are dog friendly! Franklin also has a greenway to walk with your pup, a dog park and plenty of activities you can bring your dogs to, including all the events on Main Street. My personal favorite is the annual Pumpkinfest!

Franklin is also part of the Mars petcare initiative, Better Cities for Pets, which lists all the pet-friendly businesses in the area. It is also home to one of my favorite pet-friendly wedding venues, CJ's Off the Square

I've done many photography sessions in and around the Main Street area of Franklin and I always love taking my clients there. Here are a few of my favorites from the Kemp family session with their sweet rescue pup, Sadie. The Kemps are also the owners of the fabulous pet parent t-shirt company Winks & Whiskers. They met me in Franklin where we wandered down Main Street and the alleyways for the best spots!

Baby Peter is on the blog! {Nashville Newborn Photographer}

I'm so excited to share this sweet newborn on the blog today! Peter V (yes, he is the fifth, isn't that awesome) is just five days old here, and is the newest edition to the family of my good friends - Pete & Sutton.

Peter was one of the easiest newborns I've ever photographed - he slept the entire time and gave us a few great smiles too! And just look at all that hair! Peter's new family also includes three furry kitten friends - we managed to get one in on the photos- but Beasley wasn't too excited about participating :) Thanks for looking,

~ Mandy
