New foster puppies at the Whitley house - Athena & Odysseus {Nashville Pet Photographer}

Hi friends! The blog has been a little quite with fall and my busiest season arriving, and so I'm really excited to share a new blog today  - our new foster puppies Athena & Odysseus (Odie). We've had them for four days now and they are just the sweetest, cuddliest (is that a word?), most squishy little ones! They are 8 weeks old, and mom is a 45 pound shepard mix (who knows who dad is). They are very curious, smart, and playful. It took a couple days but they did win over our dogs, especially Don Draper, they love to play together!

They've also had their first two rounds of shots and are healthy as can be. If you are interested in adopting either (or both!) of these precious pups, or any of their 4 other siblings in foster care please contact me or East C.A.N. (the organization we foster through) directly. Whoever gets applications in first gets to meet these babies first, and trust me, puppies don't stick around very long so don't delay.  We've had several friends around them and no one has been able to resist the cuteness.....you won't either. I mean LOOK at those faces!!

Meet adoptable Blue! {Nashville Dog Photographer}

Last weekend we were fosters for a foster for sweet little Blue. What that means is Blue's foster went out of town for Memorial Day, so they needed another foster to step in and babysit while they were gone. This is a much needed part of the dog/puppy foster care system within East C.A.N. and involves a much shorter time commitment. So, if fostering is something you've been thinking about doing, foster for foster is a great way to start!

Now, onto sweet Blue. Blue is about 4-5 months old and was turned in with many other siblings. We only had him 5 days, but we were really impressed with him and we know that he is going to be an excellent dog for some lucky family. Blue is smart and good with other dogs. He plays hard because of his youth, but the second Don Draper & Rollo got tired and let him know he backed off. Blue loves to cuddle and we think he's going to stay just the right size to do that. He was also around little kids while he was here and did great around them!

Blue is working on his crate training and is fully potty trained. He was a little too excited to play with our cats for their taste, but it wasn't in an aggressive way - he just wanted to play. (Unfortunately Buzzsaw and Skywalker weren't into that).

We did the quickest of photo shoots the day before he left and here are a few of my favorites! I love his ears!!

If you are interested in meeting Blue please contact East C.A.N. at the link above.

Thanks for looking,

~ Mandy

Meet East C.A.N. Adoptable Dog-Captain Louie! {Nashville Dog Photographer}

You all may remember we had a little Louie here about a year ago and this IS that same sweet boy. Here are his puppy photos if you want to get a look to refresh your memory! Louie was adopted by a sweet couple who are now relocating to NYC and just can't take him with them. They are heart broken and are committed to finding him a great home before they leave. I did these new photos of Captain Louie last week and fell in love with this sweet dog all over again. I'm serious people, he is a special dog and you need to meet him! He's very handsome and (in my opinion) the perfect weight at about 45 pounds. Louie's a mix of shepherd/dobie/many other things and he's got the best giant ears ever!

Captain Louie is 1 year, he's neutered, up to date on all his shots, AND  he's completely house trained! He loves being around & playing with other dogs, and has been good with the kids he's been in contact with. Sweet and attentive, he's eager to please. He doesn't chew things and doesn't chase other animals (like squirrels). Captain Louie is timid at first, so he took a few minutes to warm up but once he did I was hooked (and you will be too)!

Please consider adopting Captain Louie - I think you'll be glad you did! If you are interested in meeting him please contact East C.A.N. on their site or email them at info@eastcan.org!

~ Mandy

P.S. It's funny, as I was posting these I noticed you can see the progression of how he was feeling from start to finish. At first he wasn't sure about me, then at the end - totally relaxed! (all the the span of 3o minutes)
