The Fritz Family {Nashville Pet Photographer}

Today's post features a handful of my favorite photographs from a portrait session with the Fritz family! Meet Lee, Whitney, and their super adorable 13-month-old Yorkie, named Yoda!

When they adopted Yoda from RARE (Rural Animal Rescue Effort), he already had the name, and they loved it so much they kept it! He loves anything related to food and treats, especially carrot sticks. And unlike other dogs out there, he enjoys looking handsome in his clothes and even cries when we take them off! For the family portrait session, you can even see him wearing a cute red polo shirt below!

Yoda has a big personality in a small package, is very intelligent, and definitely a snuggler. :)

Enjoy the previews!

The Davis Family {Nashville Dog Photographer}

One of the hardest parts about the work I do is capturing the last moments with a furry family member. I recently had the opportunity to take portraits for the Davis family: Jennifer and her two dogs, Sirius and Remus. Sirius passed away just a month after our session after a long illness, so it was a beautiful way to celebrate his life!

Sirius was a 9-year-old German Shepherd, who was adopted from Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, PA and was named after the character from Harry Potter. "Sirius" is also the brightest star in the sky, known as the dog star, which was so fitting!

He loved spending time together with his mom, and although he was never a fan of baths, he put up with almost anything to please her. He was also a very laid back dog and so easy to take care of. Sirius was loyal and sweet and he'll be missed dearly!

His younger brother is Remus is a 2 1/2-year-old husky mix, and also has a name from a Harry Potter character! He loves food, running and playing with other dogs but hates being brushed (a tough quality for a husky with so much fur!). Jennifer loves that he's such a character and always has such great facial expressions. Remus came from Memphis Animal Services and was pulled for her as a foster dog through Southeast German Shepherd Rescue, but she ended up keeping him because he and Sirius got along so well!

To wrap up the session, we celebrated Sirius' birthday with a cake from Three Dog Bakery.

I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from this sweet and meaningful family session!

Christine & Mary {Nashville Portrait Photographer}

One of my favorite parts about the work I do is getting to see familiar faces! On the blog this week is Christine and her mom, Mary, who was visiting Nashville for Christine's birthday and wanted to do a mini session while she was in town.

I photographed Christine's wedding a few years ago in Downtown Nashville at the Hermitage Hotel (you can catch all my favorites in the wedding blog post here!). I was so thrilled to see them again and capture some more photographs for them!

And while they didn't bring any pets of their own for the session, sometimes animals just find us! While we were in 12th South, we came across a few beautiful police horses. Christine even had the wonderful idea of getting a few pictures with them -- and I loved it!

I'd like to send a big thank you to Officer Clark and his horse Buck, who loved the flowers Christine and Mary brought to their session.

Enjoy a few of my favorites from our session below!
