Kara and Cannon {Southeast Missouri Dog Photographer}

A few times a year, I get the chance to offer mini sessions in the Southeast Missouri area. (I am from there and go visit quite a bit). Last fall, I had the pleasure of photographing Kara and Cannon at my favorite spot in Daisy, Missouri: the Hahs Farm. This isn’t their first time on the blog; they here back in 2017. You can read about Cannon’s adoption story and see those pics by clicking here!

Kara found Cannon at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri. He is eleven years old and could be a terrier mix or schnauzer mix. Either way, we think he is pretty darn cute!

Cannon loves to go for walks, eat delicious treats, cuddling and chasing cats at Kara's parent's house.

Enjoy some of my faves below!

The Thieret Family {Southeast Missouri Family Photographer}

On the blog this week are Nicki, Jeff, Jake and Zach Thieret - along with their sweet pups, Pepper and Axyl. Nicki and I have been friends since kindergarten, and I love photographing her family! Her kids are practically grown, so not only did I get the entire family for photos, but we did Zach’s senior portraits the same day. We did these at my favorite spot in Daisy, Missouri at the old family farm of my great aunt & uncle.

Nicki and Jeff’s first son, Jake, is 19 and a junior at Southeast. He is currently studying Computer Science and Cyber Security. He is their resident computer guru and Nicki says he’s the most humble and kind person she knows.

The younger son, Zach, is 17 and a senior at Saxony Lutheran High School. He will be headed to college in the spring. Though he is sure to be a quick study because after a two week quarantine due to COVID, he became a whiz at solving the Rubik’s Cube. He’s available for parties!

The family’s oldest dog, Pepper is a seven year old Westie. She loves to let the family know when anyone is walking in the neighborhood or if a squirrel in the backyard. Pepper also enjoys going on walks and saying hi to the other neighborhood dogs. She is quite the social one! While in the house, she is content to sit in a chair, right next to Nicki.

Axyl is a three year old lab/mastiff mix. He is mostly laid back, but has learned how to spot walkers and squirrels, thanks to his sister. The UPS and FedEx folks are getting to know him, but Nicki still goes out with him to be sure they know his name and that he is very friendly. He is a rescue, but not from an organization. He was born to a family who could not keep him and Nicki and Jeff asked to be considered for his forever home, which happily they got to adopt him. The Thierets adopted him after their first lab/mastiff mix, Cooper, passed from cancer. Ax is large, goofy and as sweet as he can be!

Enjoy some of my favorites from our session.

Kara & Cannon {Missouri Dog Photographer}

On the blog this week is a fun dog photography session I did near my hometown in Downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Meet Kara and her little eight-year-old mutt Cannon! Kara found him at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, and while they told her he might be a terrier mix, her vet thought he was a schnauzer mix. Either way, he's got a unique, adorable look that you can't help but love!

Cannon loves to go for walks, eat delicious treats (such as frozen yogurt, carrots and strawberries), cuddling and chasing cats at Kara's parent's house.

Kara loves how excited he is to greet her and cuddle with her when she gets home every day. She also thinks it's hilarious that he loves to bark when they drive past a house down the street that has three dogs -- "It cracks me up!"

When she adopted him, she was originally looking for a dog named Doober she saw on their website, but when she called, he had already been adopted. Luckily, they told her about Cannon, who was shaking in his kennel when she came to meet him. She was able to cheer him up by bringing him outside, and instantly the two were a pair. And he was the perfect gift for Kara's 30th birthday!

You can see just how much they have come to love each other in these pictures below.
