Daisy {Brentwood Dog Photographer}

It's not every day I get the chance to take portraits of dogs as adorable and happy as Daisy!

Below you'll get to meet this playful 12-year-old basset hound and her parents Brittany and Mike.

Not only does she love food of any kind, but she has the sweetest basset hound eyes that no one can say no to! Brittany and Mike love her personality and are extremely glad she has really "come alive" since they adopted her after she had been neglected and used as a breeder. They found her at Willy's Happy Endings in Clarksville, TN, and now she's such an important part of the Walker family!

I had a blast with them at Smith Park in Brentwood, and since there was so much space for her to be off the leash, she ran a lot. More than she had ever run before, which made it all the more fun to photograph!

I hope you enjoy my favorites from their session!

Rural Animal Rescue Effort {Pet Adoption} Nashville Pet Photographer

Today I'm excited to feature some furry friends from a new charity I'm working with called Rural Animal Rescue Effort (RARE). RARE is focused on rescuing and fostering animals in rural shelters and pounds.

Here's more information about RARE, "Although there are animals in need everywhere across the country, rural areas seem to have the worst cases of companion animal overpopulation and abandonment for a plethora of reasons. Most of the animals that sit in rural shelters or pounds are more commonly euthanized. This is due to the lack of space, time and money it takes to care for them and unfortunately, the majority of these animals are highly adoptable and friendly with children and other animals."

Pet adoption is something I believe in strongly, and I enjoyed getting to photograph some pets who are looking for forever homes! I'm featuring a couple of them in this post, but make sure to hop over to RARE's website so see all the pets looking for homes! If you're interested in fostering and/or adopting, you can fill out an application here

Our first feature is Abraham, a fun, friendly, and energetic black lab! Abe is estimated to be between 1.5 and 2 years old, weighs 65 pounds, and has "an abundance of energy outside and is a gentleman in the house. Abraham tends to wiggle his whole body when he meets people and is the happiest dog there is! If you come to meet Abraham, you will be sure to fall in love with this goofy boy!"

 This little guy's eyes are so captivating! Meet Gilligan, who is 6 months old and so sweet. RARE says, "He's goofy, he's fun and will keep you laughing at his adventures. Gilligan gets along with everyone and will fit in with any family who enjoys a little furry comedian."

Elka, a 4 year old Pointer, had a hard start to her life. She was found near death in a ditch, but since then has been rehabilitated with lots of love and health care. Now she is a sweet, loving pup who is great with kids and adults!

Layla & Daphne - East C.A.N. Adoptables! {Nashville Dog Photographer}

I promised more pups and today we have two sweet ladies that really want to find their forever homes! First up today is Daphne! Daphne is a beautiful one year old blue brindle mix and weighs about 45 pounds (which I think is the perfect size!) She loves to play and run around, but also loves to snuggle when time for bed.  She even likes to get under the covers!

Daphne is a people-pleaser and enthusiastically wags her tail when she sees her person.  In fact, her foster parents nick-named her “Wiggle-Butt.”  She is currently living with her foster parents’ two dogs, and is doing great, but she'd probably do best in a home without any cats. Daphne loves going for car rides and knows the commands sit, shake, and wait.  She will not eat until given permission.  She is house trained, spayed, and up-to-date with vetting.

Next is sweet Layla. Layla was SO good during our photo shoot. She just posed and posed some more for me! Layla is a mellow girl and is only 35 pounds, so she's a pretty small gal. Layla is doing great in her foster home and recently hung out with her foster's 9 and 10 year old cousins and loved them! I just love her little serious face.  She is about 2 and ½ years old. She loves to play, go on walks and is a huge cuddle bug. She is terrific in the car and is housebroken!

If you are interested in meeting Daphne or Layla (or any of the pups I've been blogging this week!) please email info@eastcan.org or go ahead and fill out the application on East C.A.N.'s website!

Here's DAPHNE!
