The Hartmann Family {Nashville Dog Photography}

I’m so happy to share, for the second time, the Hartmann family! They have been on the blog before, about three years ago. Sadly, the sweet corgis they had at that time have passed on, and they have now added two sweet new pups to their pack. You can take a look at that session here: The Hartmann Family

We took these photos at Shelby and Thomas’ beautiful home in Franklin. Introducing a one-and-a-half-year-old Welsh corgi named Eddy Merckx, and a five-year-old dachshund named Asher.

When I asked the couple about their dogs’ names, they told me Asher already had his name, but they loved it! Eddy Merckx is named after cyclist, a world champion one, at that!
Asher loves his treats and really all food but dislikes having squirrels in his yard. Eddy Merckx loves his (and Asher’s!) toys, but he hates baths.

Shelby and Thomas love that both Asher and Eddy are so loyal to them AND to each other. “It is the sweetest.”

While Eddy M is not a rescue dog, Asher is. He came from TN Dachshund Rescue (TDR). Which the Hartmann’s “HIGHLY RECOMMEND” with a “shout out to Sheraine and Jamie!”

I also wanted to know what it was about these dog breeds this couple loved. They said:

“Asher is our first doxie, and we will definitely go back to TDR.  They did a great job of pairing us with a dog that fit our needs after our sweet Norman passed away.  Doxies are fierce little hunters but very loyal and kind.  We are smitten! Eddy Merckx is our 3rd corgi - we love their herding nature and how they like to ‘keep all of us together’.”

I hope you enjoy these great photos of this couple and their cute dogs!

The Renfro Family {Nashville Pet Photography}

On the blog this week, I have the pleasure of sharing not just one session with the Renfro Family, but four! I am so grateful for families that come back to do their photos with me year after year (and sometimes more than once a year). Thank you!

The photos below include their mini session from October 2019, their November 2020 mini when they moved into their new house, their October 2021 mini (without pups) at the tree farm, and another October 2021 mini session to include the pups at my house in College Grove. The kids' grandparents and their cute dog (Ella) were able to join in the last mini as well!

The Renfro Family includes: Alex, Tiffany, Finn (who was just 3 yrs at the time of the last session), Oaks (who was 2 months at the time of the last session), and their two fur babies Copper and Lady Bird. They were first introduced on the blog in Spring of 2018! (Well, not Oaks - he wasn’t born yet). So don’t forget to check out that May 2018 mini session to see Finn as a sweet, blue eyed baby with his puppies.

Now let’s talk about these sweet dogs…

Copper (named after the hound dog in The Fox and the Hound) is an 8-year-old beagle/basset hound mix. They rescued him from A Safe Place for Animals in Gallatin, TN. Copper loves to fetch, rip up toys, and snuggle. Their favorite things about Copper are how kind he is to his sister Birdie, how he grumbles and snores like an old man, and how he is never shy about giving kisses to anyone.

Lady Bird (also known as Birdie) is a 7-year-old pit/lab mix the Renfro’s were fostering from Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue. Well, Birdie became what is known as a “foster fail”. That’s because they just had to keep her in the family! Birdie is hard to describe to people; you just have to be around her to get her quiet and soulful personality. Birdie’s favorite things are blankets to snuggle under, checking on her human brothers, giving kisses to Copper, and snuggling (though you can’t acknowledge the snuggling…it spooks her!).

Tiffany and her family value photography, and I appreciate that I get the pleasure of snapping so many photos of them as they grow year after year.

Enjoy my favorites from these sessions! (ordered most recent to oldest :)

The Ervin Family {Nashville Pet Photography}

This week on the blog is the lovely Ervin family. You may have seen them on the blog in 2019 when we did a winter mini photo session at my house - it was so much fun!

For the session below, The Ervin Family (Brent, Stephanie, Elaina, and Livvy) met me for a mini at Ellington Agriculture Center in Fall 2020.

Livvy is their precious five year old cavapoo (a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a poodle). She was named after the characters on Elaina’s favorite television show “Liv & Maddie”. She combined the names and came up with Livvy.

Livvy is four years old and described as “the cutest thing ever”, loving and sweet. (The cute dog photos below would prove this as correct!) The cavapoo breed is known to be very affectionate and calm dogs that also like to play. Livvy definitely fits this description because along with all her snuggles, she has been known to have the cutest bursts of energy that are so fun!

Livvy does not like being left alone, so the Ervin family tries to take her with them to as many places as possible. When they can’t bring her, she stands on her hind legs to welcome them home.

See some of my favorites of the Ervin Family!
