The Hartmann Family {Nashville Dog Photography}

I’m so happy to share, for the second time, the Hartmann family! They have been on the blog before, about three years ago. Sadly, the sweet corgis they had at that time have passed on, and they have now added two sweet new pups to their pack. You can take a look at that session here: The Hartmann Family

We took these photos at Shelby and Thomas’ beautiful home in Franklin. Introducing a one-and-a-half-year-old Welsh corgi named Eddy Merckx, and a five-year-old dachshund named Asher.

When I asked the couple about their dogs’ names, they told me Asher already had his name, but they loved it! Eddy Merckx is named after cyclist, a world champion one, at that!
Asher loves his treats and really all food but dislikes having squirrels in his yard. Eddy Merckx loves his (and Asher’s!) toys, but he hates baths.

Shelby and Thomas love that both Asher and Eddy are so loyal to them AND to each other. “It is the sweetest.”

While Eddy M is not a rescue dog, Asher is. He came from TN Dachshund Rescue (TDR). Which the Hartmann’s “HIGHLY RECOMMEND” with a “shout out to Sheraine and Jamie!”

I also wanted to know what it was about these dog breeds this couple loved. They said:

“Asher is our first doxie, and we will definitely go back to TDR.  They did a great job of pairing us with a dog that fit our needs after our sweet Norman passed away.  Doxies are fierce little hunters but very loyal and kind.  We are smitten! Eddy Merckx is our 3rd corgi - we love their herding nature and how they like to ‘keep all of us together’.”

I hope you enjoy these great photos of this couple and their cute dogs!

My Second Home Pet Resort {Nashville Pet Photographer}

This week I'm featuring an amazing local company, My Second Home Pet Resort! This is one of the premier pet boarding facility based in Franklin, TN, and is the top go-to for many pet owners in the Nashville area to take their furry family members for boarding, grooming and daycare.

They have been established in the community for over 14 years and work very closely with several animal rescue organizations every year by raising donations, sponsoring charity events and fostering cats and dogs looking for forever homes. They are always looking for new ways to offer great services to the community and their pets! I've done a few mini session events for charities there in the past year.

The resort facility is fantastic, with several types of boarding rooms for dogs, an outdoor play area, a cat boarding room, grooming, day care and dog training! And as of August 1, they will also offer in-home pet care services to the local area with walks and home visits Monday - Friday!

One of the best features about My Second Home is that there is no breed discrimination at the facility. They welcome everyone and can build a custom package for any pet -- even dogs that don't like being around other dogs.

Also, every employee is a pet parent. The manager said, "If we simply employed people who “love animals”, everyone would qualify. Instead, we look for individuals who not only love animals, but practice compassion and take pride in their quality of work. We have over 20 staff members that have been with MSH for years, and some have made a career out of helping My Second Home continue to succeed in the community." I love this company philosophy and can see first-hand how it makes a difference in the quality of service they provide.

I highly recommend visiting the facility with your own furry family members, and if you mention Mandy Whitley Photography sent you, there's a discount waiting for you!

Maranda, Adam, and Reba's Family Pet Session in Franklin {Nashville Dog Photographer}

You might recognize some of the people from this session! I photographed Maranda and Reba last year, and this year they brought Adam with them to join in the fun! I loved working with them again, we had so much fun exploring Harlinsdale Farm and Downtown Franklin.

Reba is a rescue who is somewhere between 6 or 7 years old...and definitely part kangaroo (just check out the proof below) And yes, she is named after country music legend, Reba McEntire-isn't that the best! She is just the sweetest and I love how her fur matches the beautiful leaves that have just fallen.

Enjoy a few of my favorites from this session!
