The Lane Family {Nashville Pet Photography}

On the blog this week is the Lane family: Laurie, Jason, and their two children, Connor and Drew. We had so much fun taking photos this past fall at Percy Warner Park. They even brought Laurie's mom along for the session who was in town visiting!

I've been lucky enough to take their family photographs four times now -- and last time was when their pup Luna became a brand new member to the group (you can see how much she's grown in their last family session with me here). 

Luna's AKC name is 'Rustic Lane's Whiskey Moon' (Luna for short) and it seems to fit, since the Lanes love her to the moon and back! She loves spending time in Connor's arm, but does tend to have a small dog complex and will bark at people until she assesses whether or not they are a threat. 

Luna's calm and super sweet, which is great for the kids. There was a time when Connor was struggling with stress, and when Luna entered the family, he seemed to manage the stress much better!

Luna also loves hiking, kayaking and going on outdoorsy adventures! But at the same time, she is equally happy being home and snuggling under the covers (how cute!).

The Fassett Family {Nashville Dog Photographer}

I love seeing familiar faces, but one thing I probably love even more is seeing new furry family members! I've photographed the Fassett family before they adopted their dog, and this time I had the opportunity to spend some time photographing their two kids and new pup, Chewy, at their home in Brentwood!

Chewy is only one year old and named after Chewbacca from Star Wars, since he just happened to look like him. He's a havanese and doesn't shed, which is great because his new mom, Courtney, has allergies. He's a big fan of belly rubs and snuggles, and loves to follow Courtney around everywhere (like her little shadow!). Chewy is also super lovable, and hides bones around the house -- and even acts all surprised when he goes looking for it the next day! So cute.

You can see Chewy in the pictures below with Miller (8) and Collins (6). Miller loves Minecraft, Star Wars, Nerf Battles, swimming, being with his buddies, biking and reading. Collins also loves Minecraft, American Girl, loves playing school and being with friends.

The Datzman Family {Nashville Pet Photographer}

This week you get to see one of my favorite family photography sessions from this past fall. Meet the Datzmans: Alex, Alicia, their daughter Grace and their three sweet dogs! We had  fun among the gorgeous autumn leaves at Sarah Benson Park near their home in Thompson's Station.

Lance is a 12-year-old Weimaraner who got his name from Lance Armstrong, since Alex is into cycling. He's a fan of tennis balls, fetch, affection from anyone and a good sniff! Alicia says he's her spirit creature, and they love that he's athletic, expressive, intelligent and sometimes ridiculously funny. 

Their second pup is George, a lab/border collie mix who is nearly the same age as Lance (only a week apart!). They adopted him after their vet in Oklahoma rescued him and he'd been passed around to a few foster families without a forever home. They brought him in for a trial run and although the first night was horrendous (he howled from his crate for most of it), they decided to keep him and now he's forever part of the family. He's Alex's spirit animal: easy going, lovable, laid back and ready for adventures as soon as you grab the leash!

Last but definitely not least is Bonnie, who's only six years old and is a black mouth cur. She was the runt of the litter -- only 2.5 pounds initially! -- and Alicia just had to rescue her even though they already had 150 lbs. of dogs at home. She and Grace are glued at the hip.  Bonnie seemed to think that Grace was her puppy and has stayed near her ever since. They've even been known to nap on Bonnie's dog bed together! :)
