5 Unique Proposal Ideas for Pet Owners

Asking the love of your life to marry you is an exciting (yet sometimes intimidating!) question. Once you decide to propose, it’s important to consider how you’ll go about doing so! After all, this should be a memorable and romantic gesture -- shouldn’t it be something your partner will remember forever?

If you are struggling to come up with the right proposal idea, but you know your other half loves animals, consider involving your furry friend in the process! Check out a few of these pet proposal ideas to give you some inspiration!

Unique Proposal Ideas

1. The Four-Legged Ring Bearer

Is your pet well trained? Consider tying the ring to your dog or cat’s collar! And if you’re worried about the ring getting lost, you can try ring boxes, pillows or pouches to hold the ring in place.

2. The Puppy Proposal

Have you been talking about adopting a new puppy? Giving your soon-to-be-spouse a dog and a ring on the same day is a sure-fire way to melt their heart! How can anyone say anything but a definitive “YES!” to a puppy proposal?

3. Have Your Pets Ask For You

Another great idea is to order a new collar or tag that pops the question so you don’t have to! Many places allow you to create a custom order, which you can engrave with, “Will you marry me?” It’s also something that the love of your life likely won’t expect!

4. Dress Them Up

If your pet doesn’t mind wearing new things, you might consider dressing them up with a bowtie and placing the ring box next to them! This is a fun idea for an at-home proposal when your partner isn’t looking. Then you can call them into the room for a little surprise!

5. Involve Other Animals!

The Swarr Kids {Nashville Dog Photographer}

I can't wait to share with you these photos from an adorable mini session with the Swarr kids and their new puppy, Ace!

Meet Hudson (age 9), Caroline (7), Spencer (4), and of course Ace (who is only 16 weeks!). All three kids like to say they came up with the name Ace and often debate about who came up with it first! His full name is Ace Calhoun Swarr and he's a sweet, little Conton de Tulear

I also think it's super cute that each of the Swarr kids have their own opinions and thoughts about Ace & what the best things about him are. Hudson loves how cute, fluffy and nice Ace is with everyone and also thinks Ace loves all of his chew toys. Caroline says that her number one wish of her entire life came true when Ace joined the family this summer and proclaims that Ace loves to be active and isn't a fan of house-breaking training. Spencer, on the other hand, states that his favorite thing is playing with Ace and believes Ace loves to ride in the car more than anything else!

I hope you love these favorites on the blog this week!

The Schroeder Family {Nashville Family Photographer}

On the blog this week is an adorable mini session with the Schroeder Family! Meet Ed, Tammy and their dog Cece.

Cece was nothing but smiles for their portraits, which was a surprise Mother's Day gift for Tammy! Cece is a two-year-old beagle/dachshund mix and absolutely loves digging in the backyard and playing fetch. I thought it was cute to hear how she's afraid of shadows and sometimes even barks at them!

Ed and Tammy both love her mischievous personality and found her through Love at First Sight, a rescue organization here in Nashville. Take a look at the furry friends they have up for adoption online or donate to help other pets find forever homes!
