Meet East C.A.N. Adoptable Dog-Captain Louie! {Nashville Dog Photographer}

You all may remember we had a little Louie here about a year ago and this IS that same sweet boy. Here are his puppy photos if you want to get a look to refresh your memory! Louie was adopted by a sweet couple who are now relocating to NYC and just can't take him with them. They are heart broken and are committed to finding him a great home before they leave. I did these new photos of Captain Louie last week and fell in love with this sweet dog all over again. I'm serious people, he is a special dog and you need to meet him! He's very handsome and (in my opinion) the perfect weight at about 45 pounds. Louie's a mix of shepherd/dobie/many other things and he's got the best giant ears ever!

Captain Louie is 1 year, he's neutered, up to date on all his shots, AND  he's completely house trained! He loves being around & playing with other dogs, and has been good with the kids he's been in contact with. Sweet and attentive, he's eager to please. He doesn't chew things and doesn't chase other animals (like squirrels). Captain Louie is timid at first, so he took a few minutes to warm up but once he did I was hooked (and you will be too)!

Please consider adopting Captain Louie - I think you'll be glad you did! If you are interested in meeting him please contact East C.A.N. on their site or email them at info@eastcan.org!

P.S. It's funny, as I was posting these I noticed you can see the progression of how he was feeling from start to finish. At first he wasn't sure about me, then at the end - totally relaxed! (all the the span of 3o minutes)

Barney & Mick - East C.A.N. Adoptables {Nashville Dog Photographer}

I promised a lot of dogs on the blog this week and that is exactly what you are going to get! Up on today's blog are two sweet, big boys - Barney & Mick! First up is sweet, happy, energetic Barney. He currently lives in a foster home with 8 other animals. Yep, you read that right. So, Barney is very animal friendly. He had some super sweet playtime with a very little puppy while I was there photographing him. Barney is about 1 year old and really loves to play.

He's just a lovable goofball!  He has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccinations. Barney wants nothing more than to be near his leader and will wait patiently for instruction once he knows what’s being asked of him.  Trying to play fetch with him is hysterical.  He will chase the ball…but only for a second before he runs straight back to his person with those eyes begging for acceptance and love.  There really is something special about this boy, and we can’t wait to see him flourish in a home that gives him the life he deserves.  He will be an amazing companion!

Next up is Mick. He is a gorgeous big boy with the softest fur ever. Seriously, it feels like velvet. And those ears!! A very handsome boy for sure. Mick came into East C.A.N. when a member saw him get hit by a car.  He managed to survive the accident without any major injuries!  Simply put, this boy is amazing.  He’s bounced back from his accident so well and he’s a sweet guy who wants nothing more than to hang out with you and get a belly rub or an ear scratch.

He’s a big strong guy, so he would likely do best with older children, but he’s also a gentle enough soul that he should be fine with younger children with proper supervision.  He’s smart, very eager to please, and very responsive when you tell him what he’s supposed to do.  He also LOVES treats, which helps so much with training.  He’s crate trained and is learning his leash manners.  Mick weighs about 65 pounds, he’s fully vetted, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.

If you’re interested in offering Barney or Mick a forever home, please contact info@eastcan.org. Learn more about the adoption process at East C.A.N.'s website - while you're there check out all the sweet adoptables (more pics coming to the website soon!)

Meet Meatloaf - our new East C.A.N. foster puppy! {Nashville Dog Photographer}

I thought it couldn't be more fitting for the first blog post of the new year to be our newest foster puppy Meatloaf! Meatloaf is 8 weeks old, is weighing in at 8 pounds and has had her first round of shots. She is doing great in our zoo of a house with our three other dogs and two cats.

She loves to play and then sleep cuddled up at your feet - repeat often :) She's only been an inside dog since Sunday night and is really doing great with her crate and potty training! She is a little fluffy snuggler for sure, and is happy and curious as well!

Meatloaf has two sisters also in need of homes (Carrot & Potato), if you are interested in meeting Meatloaf or any of her siblings please contact me or East C.A.N. for more info! All East C.A.N. dogs are up for adoption on a first come, first served basis according to who has filled out the application first, so don't delay if you are interested - these sweet girls won't be in foster for long!

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year!

~ Mandy
